Relm Cannabis Co celebrates grand reopening of their Burlington location

To generate increased awareness of the grand reopening of the Relm Cannabis Burlington location and drive attendance at their reopening event.

Over three weeks, Relm’s grand re-opening campaign garnered 100+ attendees including cannabis influencers and local media onsite plus two custom stories, 30+ feature instagram stories and 2500+ social media impressions.

Challenge

When Relm first opened their doors on April 1st, 2019, they didn’t know what to expect. After a couple years of business, customers spoke and Relm listened – making changes to better serve everyone that walks through their doors. Relm then took the time to redesign and improve their store to provide the best customer experience to the community. Relm brought on Marigold PR to help execute and garner media interest for their grand re-opening event. Relm’s goal was to position themselves in the crowded Burlignton market as the go-to cannabis retailer.

Solution

The Relm leadership team and Marigold PR worked together to create a grand re-opening plan that was COVID-19 friendly, but captured all of the new renovations and improvements in a fun, responsible way. Marigold PR developed a social media and media relations strategy aimed at local and trade media, as well as the local cannabis community, inviting them to the grand re-opening event. Marigold PR also pitched post-event to key journalists from the GTA and trades focusing on cannabis, small businesses and lifestyle.

Results

Relm Cannabis Co. secured one national magazine feature in Cannabis Prospect Magazine and a local media article in Snap’d Burlington, 30+ Instagram story features including one from KIND Magazine and GEAR Premium, and over 2500+ impressions via Marigold social media platforms. Relm’s grand reopening had an estimated attendance of 100+ people, including Mimi Cannabis & Snap’d Burlington. Guests and media were able to take photos and enjoy some snacks & refreshments, all while soaking in the new and improved store. Relm had educated budtenders on-site for purchases, sharing all the products and brands available. There was even a fun opportunity to win some merch with a prize wheel if you purchased something! Guests were thrilled to be able to take home something cool from their favourite brands.
